Red-Streaked Storm

He entered my life as a red-streaked storm

and I hated him for it

He wore a smile, disarming and warm

but I wasn’t falling for it

With a wink and a smirk he stole my heart

and I fought to reclaim it

An actor true, he played his part

but I saw right through it

He left me on a dying wind

and I said to him, good riddance

He left a broke heart and still he grinned

and I admitted his brilliance

I saw it coming, and it came

and I will never be the same.
