Rainstorms and Snowdrifts

We see the rainstorm coming

yet still get wet;

Stormy clouds on the horizon

don’t make us fret;

Where’s the excitement

without the threat?

Snowdrifts take us by surprise

– suddenly we fall;

It’s cold, we’re trapped,

it’s hard even to crawl;

But when we fight our way out,

we’ll learn to stand tall

The rainstorms and snowdrifts

are hard to avoid

But never will they

have our love destroyed;

It’s a messy love, a messier life

but for you, I’ll take any strife.
