Some Day

Some day my heart won’t ache when I

walk out of your door,

knowing I’ll be back again

much sooner than before

Some day my eyes won’t strain themselves

imagining the stars

you’re looking at beyond your glass

because they will be ours

Some day my mind won’t twist itself

pretending to be there

Your body warm and next to mine –

about nought else I care

Some day a screen won’t seperate

the sheets ‘neath which we lie,

When I roll over in the night,

no space will greet my sigh

Some day is all I wish and dream,

one day ’twill be no more;

Some day will come and when it does

I’ll miss you nevermore.
